Edwin's Contributions

As a teen with a keen interest in electronics, Edwin Bohr wrote articles which were published by "Radio Electronics Magazine". He received his BS in Physics from the University of Chattanooga, where he met his mentor and lifelong friend, Dr. Myron McKay. After graduation, he taught physics for a brief time at Central High School. Then he took a job as a physicist with the George Marshall Space Flight Center (Redstone Arsenal) in Huntsville. In 1957, he returned to Chattanooga and founded his own business, Edwin Bohr Electronics, which he operated for more than 50 years leaving a legacy in railroad electronics that we work to continue and uphold to this day.

Edwin D. Bohr joins his father's business

Edwin D. Bohr, the son of Edwin T. Bohr, can remember from a very early age, the beginnings of Edwin Bohr Electronics. As soon as he could walk, he was emptying trash cans and sweeping the shop floor. He would see many of the early products and services. After college, he began his long career in technology, consulting, and management.

Drawing on his decades of a wide range of experiences assisting companies and corporations with implementing emerging technologies, quality systems, and process improvements, Edwin D. Bohr oversaw significant company changes and growth that focused on product relevance, customer satisfaction, and team excellence. With his knowledge that a solid business foundation was in place for Bohr Electronics' second Fifty Years, he retired in 2019.
